P2P file sharing is one of the widely used applications now days. The Torrent search engine is the utility which is
excessively used in this context. As the young generation says “impatience is the new world”, means the generation can’t
afford anything too slow, same is the case with torrent download. But there are some tips which can really help to improve
your download speed. Let’s have a quick glance at these tips.

1. Choose your ISP wisely

The basic rule is that the maximum Torrent download speed that you can get can’t cross the upper limit of the bandwidth
provided by your ISP. Usually ISP’s specify the upload and download maximum for the connections. So it is always better to
have an ISP who provides better Download and Upload limits for an affordable price.

2. Choose the right BitTorrent client

Always choose the latest versions among the available BitTorrent clients. mTorrent, Vuze etc are some of these latest
versions available now. The latest versions are equipped with provisions for obtaining the highest download speed and an
overall smooth downloading experience.

3. Check the seeds and peers

A peer is a computer which participates in the P2P sharing either for downloading or uploading. A seed is a computer who has
got a complete copy of the file and is sharing that file in the network. A leech is a computer who doesn’t have a complete
copy of the file, and is downloading the file at the moment. A leech becomes a seed when it completes the download and shares
it over the network. It is always advisable to choose the files with more number of seeds and less no of leeches. That means
the file with the highest seed to leech ratio.

4. Altering the firewall configuration

By default the firewalls block all the BitTorrent connections coming through. This can adversely affect the downloading
speed. So you must make sure that your firewall is configured in such a way that it allows the BitTorrent connections through
it. This can be done by checking the box ‘Add Windows Firewall Exception” in the firewall settings following the path
options/preferences/connection. For ease some users may disable the firewall, but it is strongly advised that you shouldn’t
disable your firewall that it will open your computer to serious threats.(www.AmazingIT.blogspot.com)

5. Limiting your upload rate

A peer to peer sharing is all about simultaneous upload and download. So every BitTorrent clients must upload some data at
the same they are downloading some other data through torrent. For obtaining a high download speed you should vary your
upload speed accordingly. Usually the upload maximum by the ISP is very much less than the download maximum. It is only
50Kbps for a 2Mbps connection. For fast downloading you can set your uploading speed to 80% of your maximum uploading speed.
You must vary the speed as the download progresses for an efficient downloading. Keep the uploading limit maximum in the
beginning and then slightly decrease it as the download progresses. In mTorrent the upload limit can be set from the option
Global Upload Rate.

6. Selecting a different port

The default port for the BitTorrent file sharing is one between 6881 and 6999. As BitTorrent sharing involves high bandwidth
usage the ISP’s usually throttle traffic on these ports. So you can increase the downloading speed by selecting some port
above 10000. Usually mTorrent randomly assign the port as the application starts. So set a specific port with a number above
10000, by disabling the Randomize port checkbox.

7. Increasing the number of Maximum Half Open TCP Connections

Usually the maximum no of half open TCP connections in Windows XP with SP2 is set as 10 for blocking the virus
multiplication. But torrent needs more. To facilitate this a patch TCPIP.sys is available. Through this patch you can set the
maximum no of open TCP connections. Set it to any number between 50 and 100.

8. Protocol encryption

Some ISP’s constrict the bandwidth for P2P sharing. Protocol encryption can be used to override this restriction. Check the
Allow incoming legacy connections box and make the outgoing Encryption as Disabled for getting maximum speed on Torrent
downloads. Between non-encryption is not advisable as it may lead to some encrypted client to be left as undiscovered.

9. Connections and bandwidth

The BitTorrent client you are using will allow you to enter values for

Global maximum no of connections: It is the maximum no of connections BitTorrent client can make for any P2P sharing. Setting
this no to a very high value will take up useless bandwidth, and to a very low value will miss out some peers. For a 256kbps
connection you can set this number to 130.

Maximum no of connected peers per torrent: Set this no to one which is closer to the no of available peers for the file.

No of upload slots per torrent: It gives the maximum no of peers to which the BitTorrent client uploads at a time. Since a
low settings may affect the download set it to a moderate low value.

10. Miscellaneous

Disable the individual files for download along with a particular file, if we don’t want them at the beginning of download.
Be familiar with your BitTorrent client settings from the users manual or web.

Search engine optimization is the process done to generate traffic through search engines. It became a need for websites because 80%-90% of visitors come from major search engines. Higher rankings mean greater number of visitors. The same concept applies to blogs. However, many blog owners are not aware of their chances of being more visible on the web. They just update it once in a while and that’s it. Considering the great number of blogs on the net today, from personal to corporate blogs, all their efforts will just go to waste if they do not optimize it.

Yes, blogs can be optimized, too. It should be done for the benefit both of your readers and search engine spiders. Although the process is quite similar with the standard website search engine optimization, it is a bit different. Here are some tips that you can do to start:

Consider the Design

It is not advisable to use the default template being offered by blog publishing sites. You wouldn’t want to bump into a girl in a party wearing the same dress, do you? Same thing goes to blogs. You can hire a designer to do the work for you. If running a tight budget, you can always look for free templates offered by web design companies and you can customize it a little to make it unique.

Optimize the Tags

Use the most substantial phrase for your blog in the hard code of the title tag. Also, you have to double check that each entry’s title appears on the tile tag. This is sometimes overlooked.

Keywords

You should always use your keywords in the blog post titles and categories. You can also use many categories in one entry if appropriate.

RSS Feed

It is best that you have RSS subscription button available on your blog. This would be more convenient to your readers because it will publish your recently updated work. If your blog publisher don’t have RSS automatically available, there are RSS feed button creation tool on the net. But make sure that you place it where the readers can easily see them. You can put it in your sidebar. It is already on the blog owner’s prerogative if he/she wants to full or partial RSS.

Use Email

Because there are some people who are not familiar with RSS feeds, go the extra mile and offer them something else with the same benefits. I’m talking about You can have your blog post via email. Free tools are also available online to do this.

Compelling Introduction

Introduction about the blog post is sent out via RSS feed. Make sure that it is compelling to enough to make your readers want to have more of it so that they would click the “more” button and read the entire article. Therefore, it should be interesting.

Check you CSS

It is common that blogs come with overwhelming amount of CSS or Cascading Style Sheets. The solution to this is to place it in an external CSS file to avoid clutter in the main template and for the main entry not to go further down.

Keywords-rich Anchor Texts

In placing links in other sites/blogs and even in putting internal links, make sure that you are using keyword-rich anchor text. Remember that it is always better to use your keywords than “click here” or “more”. It would benefit you when search engine spiders crawl your blog.

Keep Your Posts Bonded

If your blog post is somehow connected to your previous posts, link them to each other. The idea is that if your reader is interested in this particular topic, then he/she probably can also be entertained of a different story with the same subject matter. You can use Related Posts Plugin for this.

Do the same in other blogs. If you see a blog entry or an article on the same issue, make them knowledgeable of your existence by placing a link going to your post.

Purchase a Domain

We all know that blog hosting companies will only be around for such a time. Once they close their business, they will be closing your blog as well. If that happens, where will your loyal followers find you? Or there are change in the domain of your blog host, it will surely affect your rankings.

In case you have limited resources and can only settle to free hosting companies, look for those who offer to display your own domain rather than displaying their own like WordPress and Blogger.

Proper URL Naming Convention

It is always a bad idea to use dynamic URLs whether on websites or blogs. You should always take advantage of any chance you have to use keywords, without keyword stuffing, including this one. Meaning, instead of using “www.xyzblog.com/?246”, you can consider “www.xyzblog.com/blog-post-keywords-here”. When you cannot do anything about it, use mod rewrite.

Good Navigation

If your blog is just a part of a website, it is not ebough that you a have a link going to your blog’s main page. Use the sidebar to syndicate your new posts because the visitors of the website might get interested in your articles if they see the titles.

Fast Page Load

The amount of time involved for a page to load all depends on your host. There are some blogs that takes about half a minute just from the snippet of RSS feed to the full article. You can lose a lot of readers just because of this reason alone.

Moderated Trackbacks and Comments

Spammers are everywhere. They always find a way to abuse your blog by putting non-sense comments with links going to their website. It is annoying and it can also affect your rankings. There are numerous tools available online which you can use to moderate and avoid comment and trackbak spam.

Don’t just create a blog to share great information or to prove that you know a lot about the field you are into. Do not settle on the number of followers your blog has. Start to optimize now and see the great changes on the next few months.

1. Consider your audience

Even if your blogging is generally personal, still, it would be better to consider the minds of your readers. You have to think of something that would interest them.

After all, most of the reasons of people who write blogs are not at all confined to their own personal motives. Most of them would love to be “heard” (or read) and would love to be known, in some way or another, even for just a minute. Hence, it is very important to come with a write up that everybody can understand, not necessarily that these people can relate to it but they can understand it.

2. Pictures speaks a thousand words for blog marketing

To make your blogging worth the browsing effort of your readers, it would be extremely nice if you will put some pictures in it. It does not necessarily mean you have to place a picture of yourself. Any photographs will do as long as it does not pose danger or insult to anyone who will be reading your blog.

3. Make constructive and beneficial blog marketing posts

Even if you are free to write anything you wan to say to the world, still, it would be better to create some write-ups that would be beneficial to your readers.

After all, its information technology that you have there so better be inclined to provide information rather than sheer quirky entertainment.

4. Avoid making blogging complicated

In order to have an interesting posts, try not to use highly technical and complicated words. After all, it is not a science discourse or a debate that you are making, so better stick to simple facts and short posts.

Bear in mind that most people who use the Internet usually do more scanning than scrutinizing each site word for word. Therefore, it would be better to come with blogs that will not bore your readers just because you have these lengthy articles.

5. Make it interactive

As much as possible and if your capacity will allow it, make your blog marketing interactive. You can do this by placing some video or audio clips in your posts.

You can even place an area for comments or for some feedbacks. In this way, you can get some impressions or reactions of other people. Who knows, you might even gain some friends just by making them feel at home in your site.

Indeed, blogging is not created just for the mere fun of it. It also has its own purpose in the world of the Internet.
Therefore, for people who wish to harness their craft, as far as writing is concerned, blogging is the best way to do it.

Phones are necessity in everyday life. Can you think of trying to live without one? I didn’t think so! The land line phone is a staple in homes all over the world, and the only complaint regarding them is that you need a phone line installed in order to use them. Generally this line costs quite a bit per month and it has a number of restrictions on it.

The alternative to the standard landline phone is the VoIP phone. What makes it better? Well there are a number of things actually. First of all it operates using your internet connection. Rather than being assigned a line it is given a unique IP address, which is where we get the term Voice Over IP. That sounds fancy and all, but what exactly does it entail? Well it means that you don’t need a landline installed, and you don’t need to rely on the phone company for your service. For some people that it reason enough to go for a service like this.

The one thing that draws people to mobile phones is the fact that you can have unlimited long distance for a very low price. In fact, the price of the long distance and the phone service together will usually equal the amount you would pay for a land line phone’s local service. Other services offered in certain VoIP package are Click to Call, Find Me/Follow me, and many other features which justify the move from standard landlines to VoIP without any question.

Let’s say that you want to visit another country. You can take your VoIP phone with you! While it won’t act as a mobile, it will allow you to plug it into any laptop or desktop, and people will still be able to call you. You can feel free to talk for as long as you want without incurring any long distance bills no matter where you happen to be at the time. Can you really think of anything better than that?

Is it easy to set up? Absolutely! All VoIP companies have made it incredibly easy for first time users to get set up with their new VoIP service. There are some concerns however, and they are rather legitimate. One concern is that you won’t be able to use your phone if there is no power, or if the broadband internet connection goes out. This is absolutely true, but most people have a cellular phone as a backup, or in most cases a primary, so it’s not something that you generally need to worry about. Typically if you are using this for a business your Internet will not go down very often.

There are many different reasons to have a VoIP phone, and these are just a few of them. Almost everyone will agree that an VoIP connection is much better than a plain old phone line, so if you’re curious at all, or even if you’re not, find a company that specialises in VoIP phones today!

Anyone who’s ever worked in a small business has had the experience of dealing with “the guy who’s good with computers” who has gotten in over his head. The person who is in charge of most IT related functions in a firm, from patching operating systems to installing software, to managing the network policy and providing support to all the users on a network.

It’s even worse when the size of the user base grows beyond ten or so people; at that point, you’ve got need for someone who’s got dedicated network training. As the network grows in complexity, the more staff you’ll need to keep it running in tip top condition.

Getting properly trained network administrators can be a hiring nightmare. The skills are in high demand, there are a lot of people who are paper-certified out there who sound like they can do the job in the interview, but are desperately mining through the manuals to handle the basics. If you have the luxury of experienced staff, you can have them tasked with training new network operators and administrators. If you don’t, you may want to invest in significant network training for your existing staff.

Network training courses can be had in most professional development centres; another excellent source for you to look at is the company that architected and installed your network initially. They know the ins and outs of your network, and have the requirement documentation to train people on what’s going on.

Network training is also useful to people who work at a lower level than just the network administrators. Teaching one or two people in each department the low level basics of network diagnostics can be a long term cost benefit to your company, as they can be tasked with solving some of the very basic problems on the spot. That being said, there are different courses and different levels of training for the staff you’ve got, whether they’re new engineers being brought up to speed, or talented ones who may need to handle internal architecture adjustments.

Typical training programmes for network engineers start with basic concepts, such as managing user accounts and privilege levels, setting up, monitoring and regulating network shares, and configuring the basic network aware applications that a business needs to run on, such as calendaring applications and email, and regulating access to the Internet. They can quickly escalate from there to security policy generation and implementation, basic and advanced troubleshooting, and maintaining uptime.

Most vendors who sell network training have flexible training schedules, often with classes on nights and weekends. Most also teach a certain mode of thinking – a diagnostic approach. The truth of the matter is that every network engineer out there has to spend time looking things up; anyone who claims he can do this all from what’s in his head is either very skilled, or trying to impress you to cover for his lack of experience. What you want to encourage is a mindset like a good doctor trying to make a diagnosis, and that takes more than rote learning, it takes a true understanding of the subject matter.
